The ship was built in 1990 under the building number 397 on the Elbe shipyard in Boizenburg . It is one of the project 302 designated Dmitriy Furmanov- class and came as General Lavrinenkov going.
Furnishing
The Excellence Katharina is a 4-star plus river boat. The ship has 91 cabins, spread over three decks. There are suites and deluxe cabins with balconies on the boat and upper deck. On the main deck, the deluxe cabins have normal windows. All cabins have a toilet, shower, air conditioning, hairdryer, safe and power supply. The ship has a restaurant, a lounge with bar, a large sundeck, laundry service, medical care by an on-board doctor and a hairdresser. There is a small boutique for shopping. The on-board program includes lectures, Russian dance and music evenings, choir lessons and language lessons.
technology
The ship is of three diesel engines each with 735 kW power driven. A KGB Schwerin transverse thruster is installed in the bow as a maneuvering aid. Four SKL diesel generators each with an output of 530 kW are available for the power supply . The engine room is located under the crew area in the stern of the ship.
