The ship is also used for cruises in the Rhine-Mosel- Neckar area. With the Excellence Royal , the shipping company operates an identical sister ship on the Seine .

The Mittelthurgau travel agency is exclusively responsible for sales, marketing and production of the Excellence river trips. Excellence and the Mittelthurgau travel agency both belong to Twerenbold Service AG . Twerenbold coaches bring Excellence guests from boarding terminals in Switzerland directly to the ship and are available for shore excursions during the trip.

history

In spring 2011 the Swiss Excellence River Cruise put the Excellence Queen into operation. It was built by the Dutch shipyard De Gerlien van Tiem. Nazly Twerenbold, the wife of Werner Twerenbold (1946–2015), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Twerenbold Group, was responsible for the interior design and decor .

Furnishing

The Excellence Queen has 71 cabins with a size of 13 to 16 m². The mini suites are 17 m², the grand suite is 30 m². The suites and cabins on the upper and middle deck have a French balcony. All cabins are equipped with shower / toilet, satellite TV (flat screen), minibar, safe, hairdryer, house telephone, air conditioning, heating and 220 V power supply. The sundeck has a golf putting green and a hot tub. A small fitness room is also available. A lift leads from the middle to the upper deck.

technology

Two engines of the type Caterpillar 3508-C together generate an output of over 2000 HP. These drive two Veth Z-drives type VZ-800H-CR with propellers rotating in opposite directions. The Excellence Queen thus reaches a speed of 22 km / h. Two encapsulated Scania diesel generators with 390 kVA each and a Sisu diesel generator with 193 kVA are installed for the power supply. A three-channel Veth jet with a Scania DC1C-40A drive motor is available in the bow as a maneuvering aid.
