Location and economy
The municipality is located in the "Land van Maas en Waal ", west of Beuningen and east of West Maas en Waal , on the south bank of the river Waal . The next bigger city is Nijmegen . The main road is the N322 to Nijmegen, south of the Waaldeich.
The economy of the community is supported by agriculture and small businesses in the main town of Druten.

Corry van Rhee-Oud Ammerveld ( PvdA ) has been acting mayor of the municipality since January 16, 2019 . To their college include the Assistant Secretary Michel Lepoutre (Kernachtig Druten), Sjef van Elk (Dorpslijst Puiflijk / Druten-Zuid), André Springveld (Dorpslijst Puiflijk / Druten-Zuid) and the church secretary Annick Buise-Jansen.
history
All five church villages in the parish were probably built in the 10th or 11th century. The village of Deest was accidentally hit by a V1 on February 3, 1945 . The town center was badly damaged.
In 1995 the dikes of the Waal threatened to collapse and all residents of the community had to be temporarily evacuated. In 1996 the dikes were raised.
