Jasmijn Lau (born March 11, 1999 in Druten ) is a Dutch athlete who competes in long-distance running .

Athletic career

Jasmijn Lau gained her first international experience in 2017 at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where she originally won the gold medal in the 5000 meter run , but was subsequently disqualified for a positive doping test. The World Athletics Federation did not accuse Lau of any wrongdoing because she could not have known about the substance contained in a tea, and therefore only disqualified her for that day. In 2019, she won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meter run behind the Germans Alina Reh and Miriam Dattke at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 33: 35.66 minutes . In December she won the silver medal in the U23 class at the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon in 21:09 minutes and secured the gold medal in the team standings.

In 2019 Lau became the Dutch champion in the 10,000 meter run.
