history
The village of Brummen, whose name originally means brimnum , "settlement situated on the edge (of the forest)" (compare English brim , "edge" and Dutch berm , "roadside"), was mentioned in documents as early as 800. Brummen has an old village church.
Hall has a very old church ( frescoes inside) which were built in the Middle Ages on the ruins of a former church dedicated to St. Liudger .
Eerbeek emerged as a mill settlement. As early as the late Middle Ages, the clear water of the streams of the Veluwe, together with their current speed, enabled the creation of water mills for laundries and the production of paper. Between about 1850 and 1950, the village, which lies on a canal between Apeldoorn and Dieren , which has only been navigable for canoes , etc. since last year , was accessible for inland navigation.
