geography

The place is located in Pinzgau in the Salzburg region. To the east of Fürth is Aufhausen , another district that belongs to Piesendorf. history

Fürth used to fall under the place name Piesendorf. Piesendorf was first mentioned in 1147 as Puesendorf. In 1160 the first Walcher castle was built. In 1816 the Archbishopric of Salzburg , which was independent until 1803, and with it Piesendorf, became part of Austria and was administered by Linz until 1848 . After the revolution in 1848, the relationship between the peasants and the landlords was abolished and in 1850 the community of Piesendorf was founded.

The individual districts of Piesendorf are united under a common municipal coat of arms. The coat of arms of the municipality is: "In a divided shield above in red a standing silver bull with bowed head in attack position, below in silver a red alternating stage bar."
