Frank Schältge (born July 16, 1968 in Bremen ) is a German author , musician and producer who works under the artist name FSBlumm .

biography

Schältge received classical guitar lessons in his youth, but developed an ever greater interest in noise , a musical genre that replaces tone or sound with noises, often without melodies or rhythm. He played in various formations based on the sound of Sonic Youth , The Melvins and later Gastr Del Sol .

1990 Schültge began a teacher training program of music and art and decided it in 1996 with the first state examination . In 1997 he moved to Berlin to concentrate on working as a freelance musician and composer.

Schältge quickly found himself in various collaborations. With the Cologne multi-instrumentalist Harald "Sack" Ziegler he forms the duo Sack & Blumm and with the Berlin-based Marcel Türkowsky he started the instrumental band Kinn . At this time he also began to appear solo as FSBlumm .

In addition, Schältge wrote and produced together with Christian Berner radio plays for public broadcasting , a. a. SWR , WDR and Deutschlandradio , for which they have been awarded prizes, grants and grants.

2007 made Thomas Morr, founder of the famous Independent - record label Morr Music , Schültge with musician Ella Blixt known. Both decided to make music together as Bobby & Blumm and recorded their debut album Everybody loves .. , which was released in April 2008 by Morr Music. In 2010 Bobby & Blumm released the album A Little Big . On both albums, the duo delivered minimalist folk-influenced songs.

In 2008 Schältge worked with Jana Plewa from The Kat Cosm . They brought out Swaying Boldly Afar as their debut album , which was released on the Japanese label Plop. Sven Kacirek and Harald Ziegler are represented as guest musicians. A special folk music was created, orchestrated with guitar, banjo, cello, piano, bass clarinet, horn and percussion instruments.
