The 1. FK-League is the top division in South Korean futsal . It was founded in 2009.
history
The league was founded on December 25, 2009. The founding members are:
The league first started with 6 clubs. For the 2012 season, the league was expanded to 9 teams. A year later, another team joined the league. In 2014 the league was expanded to 11 teams, before 13 teams were organized in the league from 2015. Only 12 teams have played in the league since 2016.
The league begins every year after the end of the old K-League Classic season and ends at the beginning of the new K-League Classic season.
