The K League Junior is the youth division of the K League . Only K League clubs are allowed to participate in the league.

history

The league was founded in 2008 with the aim of promoting youth teams under professional conditions. The league started in 2008 with 8 youth teams and has grown to include all 24 K League youth clubs by 2018. From 2008 to 2014, the seasons were played back and forth. The best 6 teams in the K League Junior took part in the A-Youth Club Cup every year . In 2015, the league mode was carried out in a split round-trip round, in which the best 8 teams in the league take part in the A-Youth Club Cup.

From 2008 to 2011 SBS was the league sponsor and the league was called SBS High School Club Challenge League during that period . Adidas has sponsored the league since 2012 and from 2012 to 2013 the league was called Adidas All In Challenge League . In 2014 the league was renamed K League Junior and since then has been named Adidas K League Junior with Adidas as a league sponsor .
