The FK Pelister Bitola ( Macedonian ФК Пелистер ) is a football club from Bitola , North Macedonia . The club currently plays in the Prva Makedonska Liga .
history
The association was originally founded in 1924 under the name Omladina . Then they were first called Pelister and finally SK Bitola . In 1945 they finally returned to the name Pelister and kept it to this day. First, the team played in the lower leagues of Yugoslavia. In 1927, 1951, 1960, 1961, 1975 and 1982 they won the Macedonian championship and the old Macedonian Cup in 1991. In 1974 the team rose to the second highest Yugoslav league for the first time in the club's history. Shortly afterwards you got off again. However, one managed another rise in 1982 with Mitko Butlevski as manager and Ivan Čabrinović as coach. Her biggest success so far is winning the Macedonian Cup in 2001, which entitles her to participate in the 2001/02 UEFA Cup . In the competition they were eliminated in qualifying against FC St. Gallen .
After the Prva Makedonska Liga was founded, FK Pelister played in the highest Macedonian league until 2003, when they went through hard times due to financial problems. A few years later, the two former players Mitko Stojkovski and Toni Mičevski saved the club from collapse. After taking over the club, they brought constant success and in 2005 secured the championship title in the second division. The following year they had a successful comeback in the Macedonian league and reached the semi-finals of the Cup.
