Fabiana bryoides is a plant type from the genus Fabiana in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Fabiana bryoides is a low-growing shrub with a height of about 50 cm. The branches often arise close to the nodes and are covered with short shoots, on which the scaly, bare leaves are rosettes.

The flowers are individually at the tip of the short shoots. They are seated, the calyx is 2.5 to 3.4 mm long, of which the urn-shaped calyx tube takes 1.6 to 2.1 mm, the triangular calyx tips 0.9 to 1.3 mm. The crown is funnel-shaped and is 9 to 11.5 mm long. The corolla tube is strongly narrowed in the lower half. The anthers are very small with 0.5 to 0.7 mm and almost as long as they are wide. The counters are apart. The scar is semicircular and hardly incised.

The fruit is a small capsule that grows to about 3.5 mm. The seeds are 0.6 to 1 × 0.5 to 0.7 × 0.2 mm in size.

distribution

The species occurs in Bolivia in the Potosí department , in the Chilean regions Antofagasta , Atacama and Coquimbo and in northwest Argentina in the provinces Jujuy , Salta and Catamarca . It grows at altitudes between 3200 and 4900 m.
