Fabiana densa is a plant type from the genus Fabiana in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Fabiana densa is a shrub up to 1 m in height. The gem-forming roots, the thick foliage and the glandular hairs are characteristic.

The flowers are in the upper areas of twigs and short shoots on approximately 4.5 mm long flower stalks . The calyx is 3 to 5.7 mm long, the calyx tube is urn-shaped at the base and a total of 2.2 to 3.7 (rarely up to 4) mm long, the calyx lobes are narrow triangular or triangular and 1 to 2 mm long. The crown is funnel-shaped, measures 10 to 13 (rarely 13.5) mm, often it has red or purple stripes on a yellow background. The stamens are twofold, the anthers measure 0.7 to 1 mm, the counters are free from each other. The scar is saddle-shaped.

The fruit is a 6 to 7 mm capsule , the seeds are about 1.4 to 1.5 × 0.5 to 0.6 × 0.3 mm in size.

distribution

The species is distributed in the biogeographical regions "Altoandina" and "Puneña" in the Bolivian departments of La Paz , Oruro and Potosí , as well as in northwest Argentina in the provinces of Jujuy , Salta , Catamarca and Tucumán . It grows at altitudes between 2800 and 4300 m.
