background

The title of the album is a Latin phrase which translated means The Deeds speak .

Because of the murder of 15-year-old Sandro Beyer , the three members of the band were sentenced to several years in prison. They recorded songs in prison and released them on demo tapes. Facta Loquuntur was then created as a compilation of various songs, which were recorded by the band during the imprisonment from 1994 to 1995. The band operated under the name "In Ketten". The first four songs by Facta Loquuntur come from the demo cassette Thuringian Pagan Madness , whereby the intro was left out of the first song Werwolf .

style

The sound quality of the album is poor and the music is kept very simple. On anus.com the style is presented as a fusion of Black Metal and Oi! or hardcore punk ; Influences from the Oi! and RAC are confirmed by the band themselves. Schauseil uses guttural singing , but also resorts to clear singing. He recorded the songs Deep Dark Forest and The victory is ours alone with the help of a drum computer .

content

Most of the songs have anti-Christian and anti-Semitic content and show the right-wing extremist sentiments of the members. The song Pesttanz , quoted several times in the media, describes the plague as a cleansing function that murders Jews and Christians. The song was covered by the French band Kristallnacht , among others , named after the Nazi November pogroms in 1938 .

The song Werwolf has already been falsely titled in the press with titles such as Death in the Forest or Zyklon B and associated with the murder of Sandro Beyer. It originally comes from the demo Death from the Forest , but where it still had the English title Werewolf and had different music. On the follow-up album Werwolfthron there is a direct thematic continuation with the song The Return of the Werewolf , in the songs of the dead and the blood court the werewolf theme in the songs Wolfsherz ( “my wolf's heart beats horribly deep, deep in my chest” ) and Wolfblut ( "the werewolf in me remains undefeated" ) picked up again. Werwolf has also been covered many times by other bands, such as the NSBM band Totenburg .

Pagan elements are not yet present, but in First Winter of Bloodred Snow there are indications of this attitude in the passages “the Pagan madness heres around” and “Join the Pagan killer show” . At the beginning of The Victory Is Our Called “Lord of War” is meant the Nordic god Thor , who also graced the cover of the first edition.

Presentation

Original of the album cover by Marten Eskil Winge - Thor's argument with the giants , 1872.

The cover of the CD first edition shows the picture Thor's dispute with the giants by the Swedish painter Mårten Eskil Winge from 1872, on which the Nordic god of thunder Thor is shown fighting the giants, the LP version shows a painting of a battle, Winges can be found there on the inner shell . The band's logo was the original version with a pincer foot and an upside-down cross .

The album was released by the German record label No Colors Records . The CD version and the record edition of the first edition were limited to 500 copies each. Since its first release in 1996, the album has been released several times in different formats by different labels, some with different covers (e.g. the burning Frogn stave church on the Picture LP version) or additional material (such as the Blood Axis cover version Lord of Ages on the CD version by Supreme Art Productions), re-released.

  5. “It was clear from the start that we also wanted to play Black Metal - without copying the Norwegian bands, however. [...] Musically we are leaning more towards Oi! and RAC bands, but only in the basics. We also found our musical inspiration in bands like Der Fluch , Mercyful Fate / King Diamond , Manowar , Danzig […] There were really many sources from which we got our inspiration, but the main source is within ourselves. ”Hendrik Möbus quotes based on: Michael Moynihan, Didrik Søderlind: Lords of Chaos , 5th edition, Pro Media GmbH 2002, ISBN 3-936878-00-5 , p. 299
