purpose

The association “Salzburger Literaturhaus Eizenbergerhof” was founded in 1994 with the aim of promoting contemporary literature at home and abroad as well as public and interdisciplinary discourse on literature. The program management and team achieve these goals by promoting literature, authoring, reading and providing space for literary groups. Particular attention is paid to the lively and committed communication of literatures and languages and critical discourse - with the aim of addressing as many age groups and social classes as possible. Specifically, the Literature House Association provides literature through (sometimes multilingual) readings and discussion events, (literature) exhibitions, the "Young Literature House" (children's program, activities for young people, workshops, advanced training events for teachers, projects) and interdisciplinary forms of events as well as cooperation with the media , Publishers and other cultural organizers.

The individual institutions in the house have different objectives, but what they all have in common is the effort to promote contemporary literature. The focus of the activities of the “Reading Lamp Literature Forum” is the encounter between authors and readers. The communication of literature is promoted through readings, a monthly literary breakfast, literature trips, writing workshops, etc. The “Salzburg Authors' Group” organizes, among other things, community readings for its members and advises authors. The “Graz Authors' Assembly / Salzburg”, the regional office of GAV (founded 1973, seat: Vienna), also deals with cultural-political issues in events and supports its writing members living in the city and state of Salzburg. The "erostepost" association primarily promotes young literature, which it often presents in connection with campaigns and experiments. The association “prolit” promotes and mediates contemporary literature with a focus on literature from Eastern European countries and brings together cultural and social areas (for example in writing workshops with handicapped authors).
