Barbara Gass

Barbara Gass (born Bärbel Maria Junkenitz in Augsburg on March 23, 1939 ) is a German photographer , author and film actress . She lives in Munich .

Life

Barbara Gass was born in Augsburg in 1939 and grew up in Würzburg and Schweinfurt . From 1958 to 1960 she completed an apprenticeship at the Bavarian State School for Photography in Munich. She then worked for three years as a photographer at the Max Planck Institute for Physics and Astrophysics . 1974 began her long-term collaboration with Herbert Achternbusch in the film industry. She starred in his films and took care of the still photos . In 1998 she created the Herbert Achternbusch illustrated book from her stock of photographs . Photographs from 25 years and a poem . In 1976 she passed her at the state collegeMaster's examination. She has been working as a freelance photographer in Munich since 1977 . She began to build up her photo series Girls in 1982, but the subject had already fascinated her when she was a student, as a photo from Paris in 1960 shown in an exhibition shows. From 1986 she also created photo collages .

She handed over her (partial) pre-leave with various materials on Achternbusch to the Munich City Library , which makes it available for research purposes in the Monacensia Literature Archive in the Hildebrandhaus.
