Fadil Vokrri (born July 23, 1960 in Sfeçla near Podujeva , Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia ; † June 9, 2018 in Pristina , Kosovo ) was a Yugoslav football player and President of the Football Association of Kosovo (FFK).
The Kosovar Albanian played twelve times in the Yugoslav national team and scored six goals. He reached his career high point in the 1980s when he played for FK Pristina and Partizan Belgrade . From 1990 to 1992 he played for the Turkish football club Fenerbahçe Istanbul . From there he moved to France , where he worked as a player and finally as a coach in the 2nd division. He later became president of FC Prishtina . Among other things, the Pristina stadium was modernized under his leadership .
In February 2008 he was elected President of the Football Association of Kosovo (FFK). During his tenure, he campaigned for the association to join UEFA and FIFA on May 3 and May 13, 2016, respectively. On January 15, 2016, Vokrri was confirmed in his position as President of the FFK for a third term of four years. On June 9, 2018, Vokrri died of a heart attack . After his death, the stadium in Pristina was named after him.
Private
Vokrri left behind his wife Edita and two sons and a daughter. He had a second residence in Montluçon , France .
In addition to his mother tongue, Vokrri also spoke French , Turkish and Serbo-Croatian .
