The FC Prishtina ( Albanian KF Prishtina, Klubi Futbollistik Prishtina ) is a Kosovar football club from Prishtina .
history
The association was founded in 1922 under the name Kosova. Later the club was named Gajret and the Yugoslav name FK Proleter Priština. Finally there was another name change to KF Kosova Prishtina . After the Second World War , the club was finally called KF Prishtina / FK Priština. Under this name she played until 1999. From 1982 to 1988 KF Prishtina played in the former highest Yugoslav league. The club has not played in the Serbian leagues since 1991. Currently, the club plays under the name FC Prishtina in the highest category of Kosovar football - the IPKO Superliga , which consists of 12 teams. FC Prishtina are record champions and with 17 championships the most successful club in Kosovo . In the 2007/08 season, FC Prishtina became champions. This makes the association the first title holder after the country's declaration of independence. In the 2008/09 season there was a title defense. With a two-year break, the title was regained in the 2011/12 season and defended again a year later. FC Prishtina has three times the Kosovocup won, making it along with KF Liria record cup winner Kosovo.
Stadion
FC Prishtina plays its home games in the Pristina stadium . This is the second largest stadium in Kosovo after the Adem Jashari Stadium in Mitrovica .
