Title holder

In the former Yugoslavia, the title of Kosovo champion has been awarded since 1945, as a regional championship, as it was one of the lower leagues in the league system of Yugoslav football . The first champion of the regional competition was KF Jedinstvo . In 1981 and 1989 the regional championship was interrupted for political reasons, the championship title was given to the team that was in first place in the table before the interruption. In 1998 and 1999, no football match was played on Kosovo due to the war in Kosovo. The championship title in 1998 was nevertheless awarded to the league leaders KF Besa . Most of the titles, including the regional championship at the time, have been won by FC Prishtina with 17 championships . To date, 19 different teams have won the regional Kosovo championship or the newly established Kosovar championship, although until 1999 it was not a first-class league.
