The Falzthurntal is a valley in the Karwendel west of the Achensee .
The valley stretches for nine kilometers from Pertisau in a south-westerly direction to the Lamsenspitze ( 2508 m above sea level ). South-east of the Lamsenspitze you reach the Stallental via the Lamsenjochhütte ( 1953 m above sea level ) , north of the Lamsenspitze via the western Lamsenjoch ( 1940 m above sea level ) into the Eng . In addition to the Lamsenspitze, important peaks are the Sonnjoch ( 2457 m above sea level ) in the northwest and the Raue Knöll ( 2278 m above sea level ) and the Rappenspitze ( 2223 m above sea level ) in the southeast. There is a transition to the Großer Ahornboden via the Binssattel .
The valley is crossed by the Falzthurnbach, a gravel channel that only carries water in spring.
The valley floor is occupied by cultivated green pastures. While the south-facing slopes are relatively steep and rugged, on the north- facing slopes between rubble cirques there are mountain pines , leg beeches, alpine lawns and mixed montane forests . The valley floor is part of the 8.6 square kilometer conservation area Falzthurntal-Gern Valley, which in turn is a part of the Karwendel mountains forms.
There are two inns in the valley : three kilometers into the valley the Falzthurnalm ( 1089 m above sea level ) and after another three and a half kilometers the Gramaialm ( 1263 m above sea level ). A toll road leads to the Gramaialm. In winter, a seven-kilometer, moderately difficult cross - country trail is prepared up to the Gramaialm .
