Fandou Mayaki is a village in the rural municipality of Tondikandia in Niger .

The village lies at the entrance of a side valley of the Dallol Bosso , through which a trunk road leads to Banibangou in the north. It is one of the two settlement centers of the rural community of Tondikandia, which belongs to the Filingué department in the Tillabéri region , along with the municipal capital Damana , located about 20 kilometers to the east . Other larger settlements in the vicinity of Fandou Mayaki are the small town of Balleyara in the south, around 12 kilometers away, and the village of Fandou Béri in the north, around 14 kilometers away . In 2017, ten individual wild animals of the endangered West African giraffe were counted in the area around Fandou Mayaki , the main distribution area of ​​which is in Kouré .

Fandou Mayaki is the seat of the Mayaki ("warlord") of Tondikandia, who is subordinate to the Zarmakoye ("lord of the Zarma "), the traditional ruler of Tondikandia based in Damana.

At the 2012 census, Fandou Mayaki had 2,971 inhabitants who lived in 432 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 2,350 in 291 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 3,940 in 521 households.

Fandou Mayaki is the birthplace of officer and military junta member Soumana Kalkoye, who was born in 1966 .
