Fanny Laure Appes Ekanga (born June 9, 1989 in Esseng ) is a Cameroonian sprinter .

Athletic career

Fanny Appes Ekanga gained her first international experience at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi , where she was eliminated from the preliminary round in the 100-meter run with 12.03 seconds. Then she retired at the African Championships in Nairobi with 12.15 s in the semifinals and won the silver medal behind Nigeria in the Cameroonian 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.90 s. The following year, she was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen over 100 and 200 meters. At the Africa Games in Maputo she was eighth in 11.75 s and did not appear in the semifinals of the 200-meter run . In 2012, she reached the semi-finals in both individual competitions at the African Championships in Porto-Novo and could not finish her race with the relay. In 2013 she took part again in the Student World Games in Kazan and was eliminated there with 12.23 s in the semi-finals. She then finished sixth over 100 meters in the Francophonie Games with 12.03 s and seventh with the Cameroonian relay in 47.23 s.

Four years later she won the silver medal with the relay in 45.23 at the Games of the Francophonie in Abidjan and finished seventh over 100 meters in 11.88 s. In 2018 she took part again in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she was eliminated with 12.15 s in the first round. In addition, she reached sixth place in the Cameroonian 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.24 s. In the year she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat over 200 meters and was eliminated there with 24.39 seconds.
