On the occasion of a re-release in 2019, Rolling Stone called the album the “greatest success” of the band and especially praised As Long as You Can Still Live Dreams as “a worthy Beatles homage - in German, an event that was unthinkable in the charts until 1987.” The compositions are “too clever for Schlager”, but the production is “too buttery for pop - and the lyrics only!” Three out of five stars were given.
