Aron Strobel

Aron Strobel (born January 26, 1958 in Schwäbisch Gmünd-Bargau ) is a German guitarist , songwriter and music producer who was best known for the band Münchener Freiheit . He is the lead guitarist and the only remaining founding member of the band and is involved in over 250 records (including more than 200 as a songwriter).

Career

Strobel's childhood is described as "almost contemplative". He started playing the guitar at the age of eleven. He played in various school bands and graduated from high school in 1977. Strobel then studied sociology in Munich and was soon active in the local music scene.

Musician and songwriter

Strobel first published the song Jim in 1980 with his English-language band Callgirl on Vertigo , which he also wrote. With the band he often appeared in the Munich club Rigan . Soon afterwards, Strobel and Eberhard Weber wrote the music for the film Death in the Wash Street , which was released in 1982.

In 1980 Strobel met Stefan Zauner , in 1982 he can be heard for the first time with this and the joint band Münchener Freiheit on the album Umsteiger as lead guitarist. He decided to pursue a career as a professional musician. Since then, 18 more studio albums have followed with the band, for which he is also responsible for the background vocals in the concise polyphonic vocal arrangements. In 1993 Strobel appeared with Münchener Freiheit with the song Far too far at the Eurovision Song Contest .

1985 Strobel worked with his band in the benefit project Band für Afrika . In 1991 he had the side project Deuces Wild with Zauner , with which he released a studio album.

music producer

Strobel, who owns a small recording studio in Munich, worked as a songwriter and music producer for the German group Charade (later also active under the name Sphinxx), which existed from 1991 to 1994 and also wrote the songs for the project. Strobel was also involved as a producer on some publications by Münchener Freiheit.

Private life

Strobel lives in Munich, besides guitars and vintage cars he prefers the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and books by Stephen Hawking .
