Right from the start, this is the first compilation album by the German pop-rock band Münchener Freiheit . It was released in February 1986. It is the band's first album to hit the charts and their second-highest-placed album.
Creation and artwork
After a Germany tour with over 80 appearances, the band released the single Ohne dich (I don't sleep tonight) in November 1985 , one of three new pieces that were created at the time in collaboration with producer Armand Volker . The band decided to release these three pieces, Without You , A Thousand Times You and When It's That Simple ... as a compilation along with selected songs from the first three studio albums. Some of the pieces were released on the album in a new version (I love light) , as a remix (heartbeat is the beat) or as a live version (show me the night) . The album title not only refers to the summary of the first three albums, it is also sung in a prominent place in the new song Wenn das das ist so simple ...
The music of the new pieces mainly comes from the songwriting duo Stefan Zauner and Aron Strobel , with Michael Kunze on Ohne dich and Armand Volker on Tausendmal du .
The cover of the album shows the band members in single photos on a black background and with blue lettering. It was designed by WA Motzek, the photos are by Fryderyk Gabowicz .
