Fantasy Filmfest 2020
The 34th Fantasy Filmfest will take place from 9 to 27 September 2020 for five days each in Berlin , Frankfurt , Hamburg , Cologne , Munich , Nuremberg and Stuttgart . Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the number of films has been reduced from around 50 to 21 and the festival will only run on five days instead of the previous eleven.
In advance, the White Nights took place on the weekends of January 11th and 12th in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg and on January 18th and 19th, 2020 in Frankfurt, Cologne and Stuttgart. The films The Beast , Blood Quantum , Code 8 , Deathcember , Disappearance at Clifton Hill , Get In , Gundala , Jojo Rabbit , Synchronic and VFW were played.
The Fantasy Filmfest Nights , which were originally supposed to take place in April and May, were directly affected by the corona crisis because the cinemas were closed at this time. Ultimately, they could take place in all festival cities on July 11th and 12th. Were shown 32 Malasana Street , Follow Me , Hello World , The Intruder , The Man Standing Next , The Other Lamb , Outlaws - The True Story of the Kelly Gang , The Vigil , We Summon the Darkness and Yummy .
