Georg Christoph von Schlieben

Georg Christoph Graf von Schlieben (born June 5, 1676 in Gerdauen , † November 12, 1748 in Berlin ) was a Prussian minister of state.

Life

Origin and family

Georg Christoph von Schlieben was a member of the Prussian Count von Schlieben to Alt-Haus Gerdauen. His parents were the Prussian Landjägermeister, hereditary captain of Gerdauen, Nordenburg , and heir to Sanditten and Klingbeck , Georg Adam von Schlieben (1649-1720) and Eleonore Christine von Oelsen (1652 ) , who was raised to the hereditary Prussian count status in Berlin -1713). The Hesse-Kassler Major General Adam Friedrich von Schlieben (1677–1752) and the Prussian Minister of State Albrecht Ernst von Schlieben (1680–1753) were his brothers. Georg Christoph married Eleonore Lucie von Ilten (1686–1757), daughter of Jobst Hermann von Ilten (1649–1730) in 1712 . The following children resulted from the marriage:

Career

Schlieben was a secret finance council before he became a real secret council on September 10, 1725 . He was also head and court hunter master , as well as president of the Kurmärkischen chamber , furthermore Klevian hunter master and chief forest master of the middle and Uckermark. He was also captain of the lordships and offices of Wusterhausen, Teupitz , Potsdam and Saarmund . Waldgrave at Nergena and Montreburg in Klevischen was also closed . Since June 1740 he was a Knight of the Black Eagle Order .
