Federico Emilio Serra (* 28. May 1994 ) is an Italian boxer in the flyweight .

Career

Serra is around 1.61 m tall and left-handed. He only started boxing in 2013 and trains at the boxing club Domenico Mura in Sassari . He became Italian champion in 2015 and 2016 and has been competing for Team Italia Thunder in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) since November 2016 .

At the European Championships in 2017 , he reached the quarter-finals with a win against Jakub Słomiński from Poland, where he was eliminated against the Spaniard Samuel Carmona . With this placement he also qualified for the 2017 World Championships, where he was eliminated in the first duel against Amit Panghal from India .

He won the gold medal at the 2018 EU Championships after beating Aqeel Ahmed from Scotland, Martin Molina from Spain and Shachil Allachwerdiew from Georgia. In 2019 he won a bronze medal at the European Games in Minsk . He defeated Tinko Banabakow and Rüfət Hüseynov before he was eliminated in the semifinals against Sachil Alachwerdowi. At the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg he was knocked out 2: 3 against Michael Angeletti.
