Feininger trio

The Feininger Trio is a piano trio from Berlin . The name refers to the painter, graphic artist and co-founder of the Bauhaus Lyonel Feininger . His Berlin studio in Berlin-Zehlendorf was located near the Feininger Trio's rehearsal location. The ensemble consists of Adrian Oetiker (piano), Christoph Streuli (violin) and David Riniker (violoncello).

history

The three Swiss musicians Adrian Oetiker (piano), Christoph Streuli (violin) and David Riniker (violoncello) already know each other from their student days. After completing their studies, everyone gained a wide range of chamber music experiences with different musicians, which they have incorporated into their joint Ensemble Feininger Trio since it was founded in 2005 .

Musician

Adrian Oetiker (piano) studied in Homero Francesch's master class at the Zurich Conservatory and with Bella Davidovich at the Juilliard School in New York . Even Lazar Berman was one of his teachers. In 1995 he won the ARD international piano competition in Munich. He has given concerts in Europe , America and Australia with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich , the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Irish National Symphony Orchestra. Since 1996 he has been professor of piano at the Basel University of Music and since 2011 also at the Munich University of Music and Theater .

Christoph Streuli (violin) has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 1997 . He studied with Rudolf Bamert at the Musikhochschule in Winterthur , in the master class of Aida Stucki and in Amsterdam at the Sweelinck Conservatory with Herman Krebbers . His chamber music partners include a. Guy Braunstein , Ulrich Knörzer, Amihai Grosz and Bishara Harouni. He has also performed in chamber music concerts with Yuja Wang , Unsook Kim, Leonidas Kavakos , Nicolas Altstaedt and Julia Fischer .

David Riniker (violoncello) has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 1995. He studied with Jean Paul Guéneux and later in the concert class of António Menèses in Basel . Further teachers were Arto Noras, Boris Pergamenschikow , Wolfgang Boettcher and David Geringas . He is also a member of the 12 cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic .

Concert activity

The Feininger Trio plays in the concert halls in Berlin, Hamburg, Salzburg, Munich, Valencia (Spain) and is a regular guest at the Easter Festival of the Berlin Philharmonic in Baden-Baden and at the Festival in Zurich . In May 2019 they will also make their debut at the Prague Spring Festival .
