Participant overview
Eternal table
The eternal table of the men's field handball world championships is a statistical listing of all the games of the men's field handball world championship in its seven matches between 1938 and 1966. The calculation is based on the two-point rule (two points for a win, one point for a draw).
The table is pre-sorted according to the number of points won. The German national team came first , followed by Switzerland and Sweden . Switzerland was the only team to take part in all world championships ( 1938 , 1948 , 1952 , 1955 , 1959 , 1963 and 1966 ) and has played more games than any other team. In terms of outcomes, Germany (most wins, most draws and most goals scored), the German Democratic Republic , France , Austria (all most draws) and the Netherlands (most defeats and highest number of goals conceded) are in the lead. The team of the German Democratic Republic did not lose any of their nine World Cup games, while Luxembourg was unable to celebrate four participations and a total of six games.
