Felix Müller (painter)

Felix Müller (born May 20, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German artist , painter and graphic artist .

Life

Felix Müller was born in East Berlin and grew up there. Müller's father was the artist and set designer Hans-Helmut Müller . His mother is the painter Barbara Müller-Kageler . From 1990 to 1996 he studied graphics at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art with Dietrich Noßky , Volker Pfüller , Nanne Meyer and Henning Wagenbreth .

Müller was a co-founder of the Berlin Parkwart Verlag, made animation films (Super-8 / Video) and illustrated artist books using screen printing / copying technology. He works mainly in the media of painting and screen printing and creates large-scale wall works. An important technique in his work is the use of foil cuts.

Felix Müller lives and works in Berlin and Greifswald, where he has been teaching at the Caspar David Friedrich Institute of the Ernst Moritz Arndt University since the 2010/11 winter semester , and has been a professor of fine arts with a focus on applied arts since November 2011. Before that, Müller was a lecturer at the Games Academy Berlin and at the Alanus University for Art and Society in Bonn.
