Felix Walter

Felix Walter (born September 19, 1890 in Ludwigsburg , † February 17, 1949 in Stuttgart ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Walter was born as the son of the Württemberg regional court director and politician Karl Walter . After graduating from high school, he began studying law and political science in Tübingen and Berlin , which he completed in 1917 with the second state examination in law. During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student association KStV Alamannia Tübingen in the KV . He then entered the legal civil service of the State of Württemberg . From 1919 to 1933 he worked in the State Ministry of the Free People's State of Württemberg . In 1929 he was promoted to the Upper Government Council. After the National Socialists came to power, he was forcibly transferred to Stuttgart as a district judge. Since 1945 he has been involved in the reconstruction of the justice administration in Württemberg-Baden as the regional court director for justice , most recently as a ministerial advisor.

Political party

Walter joined the Center Party in 1919 and was its chairman in Greater Stuttgart from 1924 to 1933. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in northern Württemberg .

MP

Walter was a member of the state constitutional assembly in 1946 and then a member of the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden until his death . He represented constituency 5 (Aalen) in parliament. In 1948/49 he was a member of the Parliamentary Council . Here, together with Fritz Eberhard and Theodor Heuss, he supported the application of the city of Stuttgart as the seat of the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany .
