Felix von Muralt

Felix von Muralt (born November 26, 1963 in Zurich ) is a Swiss filmmaker , director , cameraman and photographer . He lives in Paris .

education

From 1982 to 1983 attended by Muralt the International Center Of Photography New York and started from 1983 to 1984 to study at the University of Zurich for linguistics and sociology , but he broke off. He speaks German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Professional career as a filmmaker and director

His career as a filmmaker and director began parallel to co-founding the Lookat photo agency. where he worked as a photographer.

His photographs have appeared in newspapers and magazines such as New York Times, Le Monde, Vogue, Geo, Elle and in books ( See India 1997, Portrait - Swiss Authors 1998) or in commercials. He then learned the camera trade at Cinerent film equipment service and as an assistant. From 1984 to 1992 he worked as a camera assistant, for example in the short film Fein Raus (1986) directed by Stascha Bader and Spiel mit dem Teufel (1998), a documentary drama by Stefan Schwitert.

One of his first works as a director was the short film Pflatsch (1994). Von Muralt has worked either as a camera assistant or as a cameraman on more than 40 films. In 2006 the short film Visite Médicale was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize at the Saarbrücken Film Festival . The film was among others at the International Film Festival of Cannes shown in France. He was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize for his camera work on the films Eine wen iig, dr Dällebach Kari (2012) and The Black Brothers (2013) . He then won this award in 2016 for Schellen-Ursli .
