Ferdinand Glaser (born July 25, 1954 in Schwandorf ; † August 19, 2014 in Regensburg ) was a German football player and coach . He played four games in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg .
Career
In his youth, Glaser played for ASV Fronberg and 1. FC Amberg . From 1975 he played five years for 1. FC Schwandorf in the district league and the state league. From there, Glaser's career rose steeply; after efforts by Fritz Popp in 1980 he moved to the amateurs of 1. FC Nürnberg , for whom he played for the next two years. He also made four appearances in the Bundesliga in the 1981/82 season . After the season, Nuremberg tried to give Glaser together with Richard Vollath to the Austrian first division club Austria Klagenfurt . The transfer failed under mysterious circumstances; then Glaser's contract with the club was terminated by mutual agreement. He received various offers; Most recently, he turned down an offer from Memphis America to play indoor soccer in the United States in order to stay close to his family. He was hired by SpVgg Fürth for two years . He played 36 times in the 2nd Bundesliga , relegated and put his skills to the test for a year in the Bayernliga . Then he played again for 1. FC Amberg, with whom he rose again to the Bayern League in 1986.
After his active time, Glaser was active as a coach, initially for 1. FC Schwandorf and SG Post / Süd Regensburg . With FC Linde Schwandorf he was runner-up in the regional league and only just failed to get promoted to the Bayern league .
Others
Before his career as a football player, Glaser completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . After his career in Schwandorf, he started his own business in this profession . On the side he wrote satirical texts for the Mittelbayerische Zeitung under the name Bernd Beinuß .
Glaser died on August 19, 2014 in a Regensburg clinic.
