Ferdinand Perrot
Ferdinand Victor Perrot (* 1808 in Paimbœuf , † September 16 . Jul / 28. September 1841 greg. In St. Petersburg ) was a French painter .
Life
Perrot grew up in Brest and then became a student of the marine painter Théodore Gudin in Paris . From his travels to Brittany and Normandy , to northern France, to England , to the south and finally to Italy in 1837 , he brought with him many paintings , lithographs , croquis and drawings on maritime subjects, which he then exhibited in numerous places, especially in 1833 Salon de Paris .
At the beginning of 1840, Perrot was invited by Nicholas I to an important work in St. Petersburg . Before leaving, Perrot auctioned 116 of his paintings and some lithographs. After his admission to the Russian Art Academy , in September 1840 he was commissioned to make lithographs with city views, for which he was assigned an apartment in the Peterhof Palace and the Catherine Palace . After a year of intensive work Perrot apparently died of intestinal tuberculosis as a long-term consequence of cholera in Brest in 1832. He was buried in St. Petersburg.
Many of Perrot's works were burned in Brest in 1944 during the Battle of Brittany .
