Ferdinand Wolfgang Flachenecker , originally Ferdinand Wolfgang Flachner , often just Wolfgang Flachenecker , (* 1792 in Zirndorf , † after 1847 in Munich ) was a German painter and lithographer .

Life

He studied under the name Ferdinand Flachner from 1809 to 1813 at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen and took part in exhibitions in Copenhagen until 1818. In 1813 he received a small and large silver medal, and in 1816 a small gold medal. In 1818 he traveled to Germany with his friends Johan Christian Dahl and Christian Albrecht Jensen . Dahl and Jensen began their studies at the Dresden Art Academy , while Flachenecker studied painting at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich from November 12, 1818 .

He then turned completely to lithography, for example, he was involved in the gallery work of Ferdinand Piloty and Joseph Selb with numerous lithographic reproductions of pictures from Munich collections .

Around 1826/28 he was in Vienna , in 1833 he went to Venice . He worked in the Galvani lithography company, which he later headed. His brother C. Flachenecker also worked as a lithographer in Venice, initially for Galvani and then headed the Premiata Litografia Veneta . Then (1839?) He settled again in Munich.
