Ferdinando Nelli Feroci

Ferdinando Nelli Feroci (born December 18, 1946 in Pisa ) is an Italian diplomat and EU official. In 2014 he was briefly commissioner for industry and companies .

Ferdinando Nelli Feroci studied international law at the University of Pisa with a degree in 1970 and then specialized in international relations. He joined the Italian diplomatic service in 1972. Initially, he was employed in the Italian missions to the United Nations, in Algeria, France and China. From 1998 he took on tasks in the Italian Foreign Ministry, most recently as Head of the Cabinet of the Foreign Minister from 2006 to 2008. After that, he was permanent representative of Italy to the European Union until 2013. In 2014, he briefly took over the post of Commissioner for Industry and Business in the Barroso II Commission.
