The Roman Catholic branch church Poitschach in the municipality of Feldkirchen was for a long time the own church of the Poitschach rule . The church was consecrated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers in 1713 . It has only been a branch of the parish of Ortisei since 1952 .

Building description

The church is a baroque hall church with a recessed, polygonal choir. The tower above the southern sacristy extension has round arched sound windows and is crowned by a slender pyramid point. The choir and the nave are divided into round arched windows and small openings above them with pressed arches. The west entrance under a wooden canopy has an iron-studded door, which is decorated with white acanthus tendrils on a red background.

A strap divides the groin vault in the nave into two bays . Pilasters carry a strongly profiled and cranked entablature , which is enriched in the choir by triglyphs and guttae . The small, arched skylight windows are located above the entablature. A lancet vault rises above the one-bay choir with a three-eighth closure , as in the square sacristy.

Facility

Most of the furnishings date from the time the church was built (first quarter of the 18th century). The center of the high altar is a relief medallion framed by lobed tendrils with the Virgin and Joseph and the half-length busts of the fourteen helpers in need. On the side are the figures of Saints Joachim and Anna , in the altarpiece the God the Father . Above the Tabernacle one is Crucifixion from the mid-18th century attached. There are six candlesticks from the first half of the 18th century on the altar.

The left side altar is a baroque wall altar from the first quarter of the 18th century, which was provided with a modern image of the Virgin Mary. He carries the statues of Saints Florian and Barbara on the side and a crucifix in the top . The antependium dates from the 19th century.

The pulpit, built around 1720 with winding columns, is painted on the basket with the church fathers and bears the figure of St. John Nepomuk on the sound cover . The figures of a Man of Sorrows and a Madonna from the third quarter of the 18th century have been recast . On the wooden west gallery hang the pictures of the apostle Bartholomäus and Franz Seraph, painted in the 19th century .
