Filip Drzewiecki (born May 1, 1984 in Gdansk ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with KS Cracovia in the Ekstraliga since February 2015 .
Career
Club
Filip Drzewiecki began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Stoczniowiec Gdańsk in his native city. In 2002 he went for a year to Szkoła Mistrzostwa Sportowego , the youth academy of the Polish Ice Hockey Association , for whose team he was on the ice for a season in the second-class I league . Then returned to the Baltic coast and played for his home club in the Ekstraliga . In 2005 he and his team won the Baltic Ice Hockey Cup . In 2007 he moved to KS Cracovia , with which he was Polish national champion in 2008 and 2009 . After three years he left the traditional university town and initially played at KH Sanok , where he only played a few games before he returned to Gdansk in 2010 and was elected to the Ekstraliga all-star team in 2011. When Stoczniowiec had to discontinue adult games in 2011 for financial reasons, he moved to JKH GKS Jastrzębie for a year and then moved on to GKS Katowice . In 2014 he left the metropolis of the Silesian coal mining area and returned to Jastrzębie-Zdrój , but his time there was already over in February 2015 and since then he has played again for KS Cracovia, with which he was again Polish champion in 2016 and 2017 and also cup winner in 2016 has been.
International
For Poland, Drzewiecki took part in the junior division in Division II of the U18 World Junior Championship in 2002 and Division I of the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 .
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2010 and 2011 . He also played for Poland in the Olympic qualification for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 .
