The Filterheadz are a techno DJ - and producer - duo from Belgium .

Band history

In the mid-80s , the Filterheadz took their first musical steps in a pop band. Bert played the guitar , Maarten the drums . Their role models were bands like U2 , The Police and Simple Minds and these influences can still be heard today.

After a whole series of pop, rock , metal and R'n'B projects with modest success, they got more and more into the field of electronic dance music via remixes by Roger Sanchez , Masters at Work and David Morales . Their new productions were therefore strongly oriented towards the American house scene.

In 1998 they came under contract with the Belgian label Headroom Music . After some publications under different pseudonyms, they decided on the name "Filterheadz". It was around this time that Jo Casters became aware of them and commissioned them to do some remixes. Their rendition of "Struggle for Pleasure" (Minimalistix) became a club hit. Inspired by Deep Dish and John Digweed , they venture into the progressive trance area and have some club hits with remixes for Hooj and Platypus .

When the Filterheadz were contacted by Intec , they produced a Latin techno track ("Sunshine"), which became a summer hit in Ibiza . Further remix work for Green Velvet , Bedrock , Eddie Amator , Tiësto and Oliver Lieb followed.

After releasing the best-selling techno record of the year, they looked for musical diversity again and released their first mix CD "Tribalicious". The first album is in the works and should be a mixture of electronic music and independent .
