Left Behind II: Tribulation Force

Finale - Die Welt im Krieg (Original title: Left Behind: World at War ) is a Christian end-of-time film from 2005.

action

The UN chairman Nicolae Carpathia has usurped the rule by promising a (false) world peace if all religions would be given up. The American President Gerald Fitzhugh also supported him in this. But then Fitzhugh is attacked and his Vice President is killed, he is only saved by an underground militia. Now he is aware of the catastrophe the world is facing, as he gains terrifying insights into a dark Carpathian conspiracy. This, it turns out, is the Antichrist . Nicolae Carpathia shows more and more his true nature and the world is getting closer and closer to the Third World War. Because of the disarmament ordered by Carpathia, America is no longer able to defend itself. With the help of investigative journalist Buck Williams and his Tribulation Force underground force , Fitzhugh is now fighting to prevent the end of human history.

background

Finale - The World at War is the third film based on the Christian left-behind best-selling series by US writers Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins . It was produced by Cloud Ten Pictures . Filming began in Toronto on February 21, 2005 on a budget of $ 17 million. The film was released on October 25, 2005.

criticism

The film was panned by the critics. Alternateending.com's Tim Brayton writes that the film itself "compared to virtually all other action thrillers about battling a crazy supernatural Romanian dictator" is still "undeniably bad ." Scott Weinberg of dvdtalk.com describes the film as a multi-million dollar sermon.

Todd Hertz from christianitytoday.com, on the other hand, thinks the film is, apart from a few silly moments, an average television drama and compares it to series 24 , only "with less action and more prayer time" . There is also impressive acting, some intrigue, mostly decent special effects and good topics for a Christian discussion.
