Sonny Baskin
Herbert Sonny Baskin (born August 9, 1957 in Riverside County ) is an American film editor who has been responsible for editing around 30 productions in his 25-year film and television career . These include films like Overboard - A goldfish falls into the water , Army of Darkness , God's Army - The Last Battle , The Storm of the Century or Stephen King's House of Damnation .
life and career
Sonny Baskin began his career in 1986 as an editor for US television on the series Crime Story . In 1987, the director Garry Marshall trusted him to edit his comedy Overboard - A goldfish falls into the water with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn . In 1992 Sam Raimi hired him for his horror thriller Army of Darkness , which became an international cult film and had a lasting impact on the genre. In 1995 the director Gregory Widen entrusted him with the editing of God's Army - The Last Battle with actor Christopher Walken in the lead role. In the same year, the director Frank A. Cappello engaged him for his action film The Yakuza Cartel with Russell Crowe .
In 1999 and 2002, Sonny Baskin was also the editor of the popular American television series The Storm of the Century and Stephen King's House of Damnation , each based on novels by best-selling author Stephen King .
Since the late 1980s Baskin has worked as a film editor with directors Richard Martini, Frank A. Cappello, Tony Randel , Marcus DeLeon and several times with director Craig R. Baxley .
