Fireball Ministry is an American stoner metal - band from Los Angeles .

The band describes itself as "The first church of rock n 'roll" ( English. The first rock' n 'roll church ).

history

Singer and guitarist James A. Rota II and guitarist Emily J. Burton have played together since the early 1990s. First they played in Cincinnati and later in New York . Ultimately, they settled in Los Angeles , where they formed the band Fireball Ministry in 1999 with bassist Guy Pinhas and drummer John Oreshnick .

In 1999 these four recorded their debut album Ou Est La Rock? ( French for “Where's the rock?”) and then went on tour with Danzig , Unida and Nebula . Former Megadeth drummer Nick Menza appeared on the album as a guest musician on two songs.

Two years later the band recorded the EP FMEP with Fu Manchu bassist Brad Davis. The EP producer was Nick Raskulinecz , who had previously worked with Fu Manchu and Velvet Revolver . This was followed by a tour with Fu Manchu and Spirit Caravan, during which the group made a good reputation as a live band. Both through this reputation and through an appearance on MTV , the record label Nuclear Blast USA became aware of Fireball Ministry and signed the band.

In 2003 the band released their second album The Second Great Awakening , which was recorded again with producer Nick Raskulinecz. A video was made for the song Flatline , which was regularly seen on MTV's Headbangers Ball . The skateboarder and Jackass actor Bam Margera personally selected the song King and published it on his Viva La Bands compilation . This was followed by a phase of intensive touring with Dio , Anthrax , Motörhead and Andrew WK in the USA and Blue Öyster Cult , Uriah Heep and CKY in Europe.

In 2005 the band recorded the album Their Rock Is Not Our Rock in Dave Grohl's studio and released it on the new record label Liquor And Poker Music.
