Flak School and Replacement Division South

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Flak School and Replacement Division South emerged from the Flak Replacement Division on April 13, 1945 after the German Reich had been divided into a north and south basin as a result of the Allied advance. The addition to the name South was due to the fact that the headquarters of the Flak Replacement Division was in Munich - Freimann at the time. The commander of the command authority was again Lieutenant General Hans-Jürgen von Witzendorff . All of the 3 and 6 flaker regiments stationed in the south basin of the Reich and three flak cartillery schools (Flak Cartillery School South, Flak Weapons Technical School South and Officer Applicant Training Department South) were operationally subordinate to it. However, these schools were closed on April 25, 1945. The remaining anti-aircraft regiments 3 and 6 were to be disbanded when the enemy came closer and incorporated into the army. As early as mid-April 1945, the division headquarters in Rosenheim was taken prisoner by the Allies.
