The 28th Flak Division was a major combat unit of the German Air Force in World War II .
history
The division was formed from the staff of the former 9th Flak Brigade in Stuttgart in October 1944 .
The division's command post was moved to Bad Herrenalb .
The division had the task of air defense in Baden-Württemberg and was later assigned to Luftgau VII, and from December 1944 subordinated to the IV Flak Corps . Before that, the division served from November together with the 10th and 13th Flak Divisions as support for the 19th Army in Alsace .
In March / April 1945 the combat units of the 13th Flak Division were integrated into the division.
On May 5, 1945, the soldiers surrendered to the Western Allies.
