Flak leader Northern Italy

The Flakführer Norditalien was a command staff at brigade level of the Luftwaffe during World War II . It was set up in the autumn of 1943 in the area of ​​Air Fleet Command 2. The Flak Leader Northern Italy was responsible for the operational management of the flak units stationed in this area. Their primary task was the air defense of the northern Italian armaments factories and consisted of the Flak Regiment 39 ( Turin ), the Flak Regiment 131 ( Palermo ) and the Flak Regiment 137 . The sole commanding officer was Colonel Edler von Krziwanek . In November 1943 the staff was converted into the brigade staff of the 3rd Flak Brigade .
