Florian Bruns (born August 21, 1979 in Oldenburg ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Life
Florian Bruns came to VfB Oldenburg through the clubs VfL Bad Zwischenahn , FC Rastede , TuS Bloherfelde and VfL Edewecht .
In 1999 the striker moved to SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga . After only one year at Freiburg, Bruns became a U21 international (13 games between 1999 and 2001, four goals). In the Bundesliga, Bruns played 44 times for Freiburg, but only scored two goals.
After the relegation of Freiburg in the 2001/02 season, he was only used once in the second division , before moving to league rivals 1. FC Union Berlin during the winter break of the 2002/03 season. At Union Berlin he was used a total of 43 times, but could not prevent the relegation of the Iron in 2004 with his four goals this season.
He then signed a contract with Alemannia Aachen before the 2004/05 season , where he held a regular place at the beginning and was used three times in the UEFA Cup , in which the Alemannia survived the group stage as the second division . Only an injury made him sideline for months.
In 2006 Bruns moved to FC St. Pauli in the Regionalliga Nord , with which he made it to the 2nd Bundesliga the following year. On November 23, 2008, in the 43rd minute of the second division match between 1. FSV Mainz 05 and FC St. Pauli, he and Miroslav Karhan received the first parallel yellow (two yellow cards at the same time) in Bundesliga history from referee Thomas Metzen .
In the 2009/10 season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with FC St. Pauli and thus played in the Bundesliga for the second time after his time with SC Freiburg. After only one year, the direct relegation was certain.
For the 2013/14 season Bruns moved to the second team of SV Werder Bremen , with whom he was champion in the 2014/15 season and made it to the third division . Bruns then ended his career and switched to the coaching staff of Werder Bremen's second team.
After Viktor Skripnik's coaching team was released in September 2016, Bruns became assistant coach for Werder Bremen's Bundesliga team. After his expiring contract was not extended in the summer of 2017, Bruns moved to SC Freiburg as an assistant coach.
Personal
Bruns finished at the University of Oldenburg the degree program Business Administration for competitive athletes and competitive athletes , which he in 2015 with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts graduated.
