action

At the end of the Middle Ages: After having roamed the world as an adventurer for a long time, Floris von Rosemund returns home with his oriental friend Sindala. His relatives have since died there; however, the castle, whose legal heir would be Floris, is challenged by Duke Grauberg and his henchmen Hauptmann von Rossum, the master spy from Hackfort and the long pier, a stranded pirate. Floris takes the side of Grauberg's enemy, Walter von Altenstein, a follower of Duke Philip the Pale, and fights with him, Countess Ada and her maid Viola for his inheritance. Even if the series contains many independent, isolated episodes, overall a continuous story is presented, which has as its content the regaining and defense of Rosemund Castle by Floris and his friends.

Sindala has the knowledge of Indian fakirs and is well versed in alchemy. Through his tricks he can repeatedly deceive the Grauberger and, together with Floris Daring, thwart their insidious plans. For example, Sindala changes the instructions for the composition of the cannon gunpowder in the episode The Copper Dog so that the cannon explodes before the walls of Altenstein Castle are destroyed.
