Peter Pikl
Peter Pikl (born May 3, 1946 in Salzburg ; † February 19, 2018 in Mattsee ) was an Austrian actor , theater director and artistic director . From 1996 to 2014 he was the director of the Comedy Games Porcia .
Life
Peter Pikl was born as the son of the opera singer Herta Eibelstorfer. After graduating from high school , he began studying German and philosophy in Salzburg. He later studied acting and singing at the Salzburg Mozarteum , where he met his future wife, the actress Trude Gmeinböck. After graduating, he worked as an actor at the Vienna Volksoper and the Salzburg State Theater , among other things .
In 1996 he took over the management of the Komödienspiele Porcia from Tamás Ferkay , having previously belonged to the ensemble and worked with Herbert Wochinz , the founder of the Komödienspiele, for 16 years . Under the directorship of Peter Pikl, the program was expanded to include works by Oscar Wilde and Arthur Schnitzler and pieces by contemporary authors. He also established a children's theater. In 2014 he handed over management to Angelica Ladurner for health reasons and was awarded the Great Medal of Carinthia by Governor Peter Kaiser .
In 1975 he played the role of sergeant in eight episodes in the television series Floris von Rosemund , and in 1997 he played the role of Monsignore Kögler in the series An ideal candidate with Herbert Fux .
He died in February 2018 at the age of 71 after a long illness in Mattsee near Salzburg.
