Florjan Lipuš
Florjan Lipuš (born May 4, 1937 in Lobnig near Bad Eisenkappel , Carinthia ) is an Austrian poet and writer who publishes in Slovenian .
Life
Florjan Lipuš was born in 1937 as the son of two Carinthian Slovenes in the southern part of Carinthia. His father served in the German Wehrmacht during World War II . Florjan lost his mother at the age of six. After entertaining a group of Gestapo men disguised as partisans , she was arrested, deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp and murdered there.
After the war, Lipuš attended the church high school in Tanzenberg , which was followed by studies at the philosophical-theological seminar in Klagenfurt from 1958 to 1962 , but which he did not graduate. From 1966 until his retirement in 1999 he worked as a teacher at various Carinthian elementary schools .
Florian Lipuš is the father of the Austrian poet Cvetka Lipuš , the musician Gabriel Lipuš and the photographer Marko Lipuš.
Literary work
Florjan Lipuš, along with Gustav Januš, is one of the most important representatives of the authors from the ranks of the Carinthian Slovenes, who write their works exclusively in Slovenian .
In 1960 he founded the literary magazine mladje ( Jungwald ) together with Karel Smolle and Erik Prunč in Klagenfurt , of which he remained editor-in-chief until 1981.
Lipuš was best known for his novel Zmote dijaka Tjaža , published in Slovenia in 1972 , which was translated into German in 1980/1981 by Peter Handke and Helga Mračnikar as Der Zögling Tjaž . Handke praised his colleague's "art of wordplay" and the "force and pain" of his texts. The German translation was presented on March 31, 1981 in Vienna in what was then the Museum of the 20th Century in the presence of the author, the two translators and Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreiskys . Thereafter Johann (Janez) Strutz became the most important translator of Florjan Lipuš's works.
In 1985, Lipuš was accepted as a corresponding member of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Arts . For his novel Boštjans Flug ( Boštjanov let ), published in 2003 , he received the most important Slovenian literary prize, the Prešeren Prize , in 2004 .
A work edition by Lipuš, which was initially completed in 2007 with the rain procession , was published by Wieser Verlag , Klagenfurt . Johann Strutz made a name for himself as a congenial translator of his literature into German, and was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Translators for his work .
Lipuš publishes partly under the pseudonym Boro Kostanek .
In every novel, a literarily alienated factual text is at the center of the action, revolving around the sketches on the subjects of Eros, Pathos and Thanatos. Only a reflective can get out of this traditional system to fly up and away through personal maturation in the mind.
