Flurin Spescha

Flurin Spescha (born August 24, 1958 in Domat / Ems ; † October 18, 2000 in Zurich ) was born as the son of the writer Hendri Spescha (1928–1982) and was a Swiss writer and publicist who wrote in German and Rhaeto-Romanic .

Life

Spescha attended the Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur . He then lived in the United States and Canada for a few years . Between 1979 and 1985 he studied Romance studies and literary criticism at the University of Zurich, after which he worked as a freelance journalist , writer and translator .

Spescha was committed to the standard language Rumantsch Grischun . In 1990 he was a co-founder of the Romansh literary days “Dis da litteratura a Domat”. Between 1991 and 1995 he was president of the Rhaeto-Romanic writers' association "Uniun da scripturas e scripturs rumantschs". In 1993 his work Fieu e flomma (Fire and Flame) was published. It was the first ever novel in Rumantsch Grischun. From 1994 to 1999 he was the public relations officer of the Zurich city president. In autumn 2000, a few weeks before his unexpected death, he married the artist Regula Esposito .

He found his final resting place in the Sihlfeld cemetery .
